Tax or social insurance relief

The regulation provides import duty exemptions for new or expanded factories producing refined sugar (HS code 17019910 and 17019990). The exemption will be given for five years for plants located on the island of Java and seven years for factories located on other islands. At the same time, these plants will be required to fulfill increasing levels of production, reaching near full capacity at the fifth, respectively seventh, year of production.

Import tariff

The import duty exemption will be given for up to five to seven years for the imports of raw sugar (HS code 170113 and 170114).
