In June 2017, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of colour coated steel coils/sheets from China and South Africa. In June 2018, a definitive duty was imposed.

The antidumping investigation was initiated on 9 June 2017. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 7210.7010, 7210.7020, 7210.7090, 7212.4010 and 7212.4090. This investigation follows the application lodged on 10 April 2017 by International Steels Limited.
On 9 December 2017, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission concluded the preliminary determination of the above investigation. The investigation will continue without the imposition of provisional duties.
On 13 June 2018, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission imposed a definitive duty on imports of colour coated steel coils/sheets from the China and South Africa. The rate of duty on imports from South Africa is 14.24% of the C&F value. The rate of duty on imports from China is between 5.36% and 10.88% of the C&F value depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
