On February 6th 2016, the Central Government of China announced a new edict which forced any banking institutions conducting activities within China that included e-banking services to station their relevant IT systems within the confines of the PRC's physical borders, in effect empowering the government to control all in- and outgoing traffic, and adding another rampart to the Great Firewall of China.
