Anti-subsidy

On 30 August 2010, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of potato starch from the European Union. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 1108.13.00. The application was lodged on 30 June 2010 by the China Starch Industry Association.
An anti-dumping investigation on imports of the same product from the European Union was initiated prior by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, see related measure.
 
On 19 May 2011, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China imposed a provisional countervailing duty on imports of the subject good from the European Union. The rate of duty is 7.70% or 11.19% ad valorem depending on the company.
 
On 17 September 2011, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China imposed a definitive countervailing duty on imports of potato starch from the European Union. The rate of duty is 7.5% or 12.4% ad valorem depending on the company. The measure is in force for a period of five years.
 
On 16 September 2016, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China initiated a sunset review of the countervailing duty imposed on imports of potato starch from the European Union. The definitive countervailing duty remains in force during the period of investigation.

On 15 September 2017, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China extended the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from the European Union. The rate of duty remains at 7.5% or 12.4% ad valorem depending on the company. The measure is in force for a period of five years from 16 September 2017.
