Import tariff

On December 3, 2014, the Ecuadorian Foreign Trade Committee passed Resolution 045 approving the temporary elimination of import tariffs on pots and pans used in induction cookers. These new tariffs only applied for those importers registered in the Ministry of Industry and Production as kitchenwares importers for the Energy Efficiency Program for Induction Cooking and Electric Water Heating. These goods previously experienced a 30% import duty. This new tariff value does not apply to other types of kitchenwares.

This law emerged from the Government's effort to change the energetic matrix of the country and reduce the importation of Liquified Natural Gas.
