On September 12, 2011, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of poly (ethylene terephthalate) from China, South Korea, Taiwan, among others. The product subject to this measure is classified under the following tariff line of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 3907.60.00.
The reference price for poly (ethylene terephthalate) is: free on board USD 1.8 per kg. The preceding reference price was: free on board USD 1.3 per kg (see also "Related Measures").
These reference prices entered into force on September 14, 2011.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish:valorescriteriodecarácterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
