On September 2, 2011, the Government of Argentina introduced reference prices applicable to the importation of certain articles of iron or steel from China, Thailand, among others.
The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff lines of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 7318.11.00, 7318.12.00, 7318.13.00, 7318.14.00, 7318.15.00, 7318.16.00, 7318.19.00, 7318.21.00, 7318.22.00, 7318.23.00, 7318.24.00, 7318.29.00, 7415.10.00, 7415.21.00, 7415.29.00, 7415.33.00, 7415.39.00 and 7616.10.00.
These reference prices entered into force on September 6, 2011.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish:valorescriteriodecarácterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
