Import licensing requirement

On the 13th October 2014, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce issued announcement No71/2014 introducing automatic import licenses for sugar.

With the new provisions in place, importers will have to register out-of-quota imports of sugar. Previously, no such licenses were required.

The regulation came into force on 1st of November 2014.
