Import tariff quota

On December 22, 2015, the Mexican Secretariat of Economy passed an Agreement allowing duty-free imports of up to 300,000 tonnes per year of poultry. The previous duty-free quota was set at 100,000 tonnes per year. This measure is to last until December 31, 2017. 

This legislation only applies to products under HS Codes 020711, 020712, 020713 and 020714.

Update
On December 26, 2017, the Mexican Secretariat of Economy issued an Agreement extending the import tariff quota set on poultry until December 31, 2019.
 
On 24 May 2019, the Mexican Secretariat of Economy passed an Agreement increasing the total duty-free import quota set on poultry (please, see related state acts).
