On 3 July 2009, the government of India relaxed its export regime for wheat flour. Instead of an export ban, upto 650'000 tons of wheat flour may now be exported from the country through designated ports.
This relaxation was initially set to last until 31 March 2010, but was prolonged twice up to 31 March 2011, and finally 31 March 2012.
The ban had been effective from 8 October 2007. The affected trading partners are those with trade above the GTA de minimis threshold of USD 1 million in the year prior to the ban according to UN Comtrade.
