Resolution No. 44 of 1 February 2017 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan introduced a liberalising amendment in the existing "Procedure for execution of compulsory sales of foreign currency by business entities" (Decree No. 245 of 29 June 2000).

Previously, the enterprises engaged in decentralised exports were required to sell to authorised banks 50% of their proceeds of foreign currency. In the future, as per the amendment of Decree No. 44, to mandatory foreign currency sales are subject exports of goods and services at the amount of only 25% of foreign currency earnings.

Decree No. 44 entered into force on 6 February 2017.
