On 30 November 2016, with Decision No. 130, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission announced the introduction of a temporary import duty waiver with respect to polyethylene used in the anti-corrosion coating of large-diameter pipes.

Import tariff

On 30 November 2016, with Decision No. 130, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission announced the introduction of a temporary import duty waiver with respect to polyethylene used in the anti-corrosion coating of large-diameter pipes. The waiver was to be in force from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2017. On 26 January 2018, the Council updated the waiver to be in force until 1 October 2018, also retroactively covering the whole month of January 2018. Normally, a 6.5% duty is applied on the imports of this type of polyethylene, classified under tariff code 3901.20.900.1 of the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union.
