In December 2016, the Argentinian authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of certain steel pipes from China. In May 2018, a definitive duty was imposed.

Anti-dumping

The antidumping investigation on imports of certain steel pipes of a kind used for oil or gas pipelines, with a particular outer diameter and thickness from China was initiated on 8 December 2016. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 7304.19.00 and 7306.19.00. This investigation follows the application lodged by SIDERCA SAIC, SIAT SA and TUBHIER SA.

On 4 October 2017, the Argentinian authorities issued Resolution 764-E / 2017 deciding to continue the above investigation without the imposition of provisional duties.

On 24 May 2018, the Argentinian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is ad valorem 26% of the FOB value. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
