The Argentinian Agro-Industry Ministry together with the Bank of the Nation announced a 350 million Argentine peso plan to boost the production of fruits in the Mendoza region.

State loan

The objective of this financial plan is to assist fruit producers of the Mendoza region to boost their sales both at national and international markets. The credit line comes in two tranches of 175 million Argentine pesos (ca. 12 million USD) each. Loans from these credit lines will be charged the preferential rate of 6 percent. Among fruit producers and processers, SMEs, large companies and exporters may apply.

The individual loan volumes will vary depending on the purpose of it. For SMEs, the volume of the loan will be decided case-by-case, with a maximum volume of 5 million pesos for investment projects, and 1 million pesos for human capital development. With regard to big enterprises, the maximum volume will also be 5 million pesos with a special interest rate discount on human capital development loans. In the case of export projects, the loan will be 80% of the Free-on-Board value, to a maximum quantity of 20 million pesos during a period of 180 days.
