Government sources have confirmed this measure.
After lengthy deliberation on 15 June 2009, and reported lobbying by domestic producers, Saudi Arabia has lifted its one-year long ban on steel exports . However, the government has made it clear that the reform is subject to three conditions:
1- Domestic market demand is given priority, only excess supply is to be exported;
2- Domestic Producers must reserve 10% of their production at all times for strategic domestic requirements;
3- Pricing be kept at "reasonable" levels.
In order to reveal the bilateral trading partners above 1'000'000 USD per year and per tariff line, one needs to find the year prior to the ban (2007 in this case).
