On July 29, 2011, the Government of Argentina introduced reference prices applicable to the importation of plates, sheets, film, foil and strip of polymers of styrene and polyurethanes from Brazil, China and other Latin American and Asian countries.
The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff lines of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 3921.12.00 and 3921.13.90.
These reference prices entered into force on August 2, 2011.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (inSpanish:valorescriteriodecarácterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
