On July 14th, 2011, the Government of Argentina established export quotas on certain species of fish. The restriction encompasses a series of endangered species, and was adopted in the context of an 'emergency situation' on fishing activities in one of the main rivers of Argentina, the Paraná River.
Theaffected species are: 0302.69.41 Sábalo (Prochilodus platensis); 0303.79.51 Sábalo (Prochilodus platensis);0302.69.43 Surubí (Pseudoplatystoma coruscans); 0303.79.53 Surubí (Pseudoplatystoma coruscans); 0302.69.44 Tararira (Hoplias malabaricus & H.cf lacerdae); 0303.79.54 Tararira (Hoplias malabaricus & H.cf lacerdae); 0302.69.45 Boga (Leporinus spp.); 0303.79.55 Boga (Leporinus spp.).
The measure will be in force until December 31st, 2011
