Import tariff

On July 28, 2011, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of certain type of transmission belts or belting, of vulcanized rubber reinforced only with textile materials from China, Taiwan, and other Asian countries. The product subject to this measure is classified under the following tariff line of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 4010.12.00.
 
These reference prices entered into force on August 1, 2011.
 
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (inSpanish:valorescriteriodecar√°cterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
