On July 28, 2011, the Government of Argentina introduced reference prices applicable to the importation of certain types of synthetic and artificial filament yarn of polyester from India, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, and other Asian countries.
The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff lines of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 5402.33.00, 5503.20.10 and 5503.20.90.
These reference prices entered into force on August 1, 2011.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005(inSpanish:valorescriteriodecarácterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
