Export tax

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus approved Decree No. 753 of 10 June 2011 in order to stabilise the situation on the domestic fuel market (concerning classification codes 2710 11, 2710 19), as well as to prevent the illegal export of fuel under the cover of personal use.
The decree states that the following item is excluded from the list of personal goods (which do not require export taxes): if a physical person leaves with private vehicle the border more than 1 time per 5 days. A number of exceptions are made for diplomatic transport and families of diplomats, state officials, military persons, people who go to hospitals, state officials of the Customs Union, the vehicles which conduct international transportation of people, as well as physical persons, travelling to work abroad (work visa).
This state initiative was eliminated as of 1 September 2016 with Decree No. 526 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 1 July 2016.
