On July 4, 2011, the Government of Argentina introduced reference prices applicable to the importation of certain type of cotton yarn and woven fabrics from India, Indonesia, Peru, Brazil, and other countries.
The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff lines of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 5205.11.00, 5205.12.00, 5205.13.10, 5205.14.00, 5205.22.00, 5205.23.10, 5205.24.00, 5205.32.00, 5205.33.00, 5205.34.00, 5205.42.00, 5205.43.00 and 5509.51.00.
These reference prices entered into force on July 6, 2011.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June2005(inSpanish:valorescriteriodecarácterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
