The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code subheading: 2008.70.09. The application was lodged on 29 November 2010 by Heinz Wattie's Limited.
On 4 August 2011, the Minister of Commerce imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of preserved peaches from Spain. The duty imposed is payable when the export price is lower than the reference price. The rate of duty is the difference between the export price and reference price of EUR 1.26 (approx. USD 1.78) per kilogram. This duty is with the exception of four Spanish companies who have a confidential reference price.
On 4 August 2016, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of preserved peaches from Spain. The investigation follows the application lodged on 6 July 2016 by Heinz Wattie's Limited. The anti-dumping duty remains in force for the duration of the review period.
On 23 February 2017, the New Zealand authorities terminated the above antidumping duties on the subject good from Spain following the conclusion of the above sunset review.
