Import tariff

According to the Permanent Delegation of India to the WTO, the government of India has reduced import tariffs for certain metals as well as a basic chemical.
 
Effective from 1 April 2011, the import tariffs of stainless steel scrap have been reduced to zero percent, ferro-nickel to 2.5 percent, and vanadium pent oxide to 2.5 percent respectively.
