The Turkish government has repeadetly raised the import tariffs on certain ethyl alcohol products. According to the customs code for 2010, ethyl alcohols will be subject to an import tariff of 15 or 30 percent.
According to information verified by the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the WTO, the government of Turkey had initianally raised the import tariffs on 18 September 2009 from 3 to a range between 10 and 15 percent.
By virtue of the EU-Turkey Customs Union Agreement of December 22, 1995, the tariffs do not apply to products from EU member states.
