Financial grant

On 10 January 2011 the European Commission announced an extension of the UK state aid scheme called 'Small amounts of compatible aid'. The new end date for the scheme is now 31 December 2011.
The motive for this measure is to aid companies from all sectors to recover from the recent financial crisis, and officially "aid to remedy serious disturbances in economy". The overall and annual budget is 500 million euros.
