Anti-dumping

On 29 April 2011, the Indian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of phthalic anhydride originating in Israel, Republic of Korea and in Chinese Taipei. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code 2917.3500.
 
On 24 December 2012, the Indian authorities imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of the subject product from Israel, Republic of Korea and in Chinese Taipei. The rate of duty on import from Israel is between US$ 17.99 and 139.76 per tonne. The rate of duty on import from The rate of duty on import from the Republic of Korea is between US $ 0.0 and 91.12 per tonne. The rate of duty on import from Chinese Taipei is between US$ 63.33 and 150.88 per tonne.

On 11 December 2017,  the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Israel, Republic of Korea and in Chinese Taipei. This follows the application lodged by IG Petrochemicals Ltd. and Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd.

On 21 December 2017, in connection with the above sunset review, the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification extending the period of imposition of the definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from Israel, Republic of Korea and in Chinese Taipei until 23 December 2018.
