Public procurement localisation

The president of the Republic of Nigeria has directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure that in every procurement related to vehicles, priority is first given to locally assembled plants in order to encourage local businesses and boost employment. This directive also extends to the procurement of machinery.
A new tariff to protect local industries is also under consideration.
