In June 2010, the government of Thailand initiated a new anti-dumping investigation and definitive antidumping duties were imposed in August 2011. In June 2016, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended in June 2017.

Anti-dumping

On 16 June 2010, the Thai authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of flat hot rolled in coils and not in coils from Malaysia and China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 7208.10, 7208.25, 7208.26, 7208.27, 7208.36, 7208.37, 7208.38, 7208.39, 7208.40, 7208.51, 7208.52, 7208.53, 7208.54, 7208.90, 7211.13, 7211.14 and 7211.19.
 
On 17 February 2011, the Thai authorities imposed a provisional duty on imports of the subject good from China and Malaysia. The rate of duty on imports from China is 30.91%. The rate of duty on imports from Malaysia is 38.92% or 42.51%.
 
On 12 August 2011, the Thai authorities imposed a definitive duty on imports of the subject good from Malaysia and China. The rate of duty on imports from China is 30.91%. The rate of duty on imports from Malaysia is 23.57% or 42.51%.
 
On 23 June 2016, the Thai authorities initiated a sunset review on the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Malaysia and China.

On 23 June 2017, the Thai authorities extended the definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China and Malaysia following the conclusion of a sunset review. The duty is extended for a period of five years.
