In April 2010, the government of China initiated a new anti-dumping investigation. The antidumping duty imposed in 2012 was extended for a period of five years in April 2017.

Anti-dumping

nd the UNited On 22 April 2010, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced the initiation of anti-dumping investigation on imported Dispersion Unshifted Single-Mode Optical Fiber from the EU and the US. In accordance with Article 28 and 29 of the Anti-dumping Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the MOFCOM released this Notice No.4 (2011) to carry out anti-dumping measures in means of deposit.

On 18 February 2011, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce imposed a preliminary anti-dumping duty on imported Dispersion Unshifted Single-Mode Optical Fiber (listed under 90011000 in the import tariffs of the Chinese Customs) originating from the EU and US. The amount of the duty imposed on imports from the United States is between 4.7% and 18.6% depending on the company. The amount of the duty imposed on imports from the EU is between 17.7% and 29.1% depending on the company.

On 21 April 2011, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce released the Notice No.17 (2011), announcing the final determination of anti-dumping duty on Dispersion Unshifted Single-Mode Optical Fiber from the US and the EU. The amount of the duty imposed on imports from the United States is between 5.4% and 32.5% depending on the company. The amount of the duty imposed on imports from the European Union is between 12.9% and 29.1% depending on the company. The definitive duty is imposed on 22 April 2011 for a period of five years.
 
On 22 April 2016, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of the above good from the European Union and the United States of America (MOFCOM Announcement No. 15 of 2016). It follows the application lodged on 16 February 2016 by Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company, Futong Group Company Limited, Fiberhome Fujikura Optic Technology Co., Ltd., Hengtong Optic-Electric Co., Ltd., Zhongtian Technology Optical Fiber Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Fasten Photonics Co., Ltd., and Chengdu Sei Optical Fiber Co., Ltd., on behalf of the industry of the subject good. The existing anti-dumping duty remains in force during the review.

On 22 April 2017, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China extended the antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from the United States and the European Union for a period of five years following the conclusion of the above sunset review. The rate of duty imposed on imports of the subject good from the European Union and the United States remains at the same level as imposed by Announcement No. 17 of 2011.
