Import tariff

On November 11, 2010, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of electric irons from Brazil, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and other Asian and Latin-American countries.
 
The product subject to this measure is classified under the following tariff line of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 8516.40.00. The reference prices took effect on 15 November 2010.
 
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goodsinJune2005(inSpanish:valorescriteriodecar√°cterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
