Anti-dumping

On 16 February 2011, the European Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) originating in Oman and Saudi Arabia (Notice No. 2011/C 49/10). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 3907.60.20. The complaint was lodged on 3 January 2011 by the Committee of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Manufacturers in Europe, which represents more than half of the total Union production of certain polyethylene terephthalate. On the same day an anti-subsidy investigation was initiated on the above product from Oman and Saudi Arabia, see related measure.

On 15 December 2011, the European Commission announced a terminated the above anti-dumping investigation on imports of certain polyethylene terephthalate (PET) originating from Oman and Saudi Arabia without the imposition of duties (Notice No. 2011/835/EU). This follows that the Committee of Polyethylene Terephthalate Manufacturers in Europe withdrew their complaint on 12 October 2011.
