Import tariff

As of 24 October 2010, the government of Viet Nam raised import tariffs on a range of food items. According to the Ministry of Finance's website, the following tariff changes have been implemented:

  • grapefruit, meat, edible meat byproducts and curried chicken are subject to an import tariff of 40 percent;
  • meat-mixed products and meat byproducts now face an import tariff of 38 percent; and
  • canned food made from buffalo meat and beef, and sheep curry one of 37 percent.
