Import tariff

On 14 January 2011, the ministry had already given preferential import treatment to designated petrol products. The regulations of February 2011 are to refine these. The Ministry has engaged in a series of import tariff reductions for petrol products since April 2010.
On 23 February 2011, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance announced the preferential treatment of various petroleum protacts with respect to import duties.
From 24 February 2011, imports falling under HS code 2710 will become subject to lowered import duties. Among these, the import duties on kerosene and muzet have been remove altogether. Prior to the change, these two products had been subject to a duty of 2 percent.
