Export tax

In 2009 Thailand cancelled export tax for buffalo, cow hide and dried processed rubber wood.

The former export tax rates for buffalo and cow hide was 5 baht/kg, while the export tax for wood and processed wood from rubber tree faced an export tax of 3%.

According to the Thai authorities the reason for the cancellation of these export taxes is to ease excess domestic supply.
