Import ban

The Ministry of Energy in Kenya has lifted a ban, imposed in 2010, preventing Kenyan based fuel marketing companies from importing private cargoes of refined petroleum products.

The firms are now allowed to import outside the ministry's supervised open tender system. The ban was imposed due to congestion at the Kipevu Oil Storage Facility.
