Import ban

A Ministry of Foreign Trade in Sudan banned the importation of furniture, molasses, biscuits, vermicelli, macaroni, raw and manufactured leather, silk and its products, live animals and birds (excluding chickens, cows and goats imported for breeding) from 5 January 2011.

The Central Bank of Sudan has therefore directed all banks working in Sudan not to engage in any banking arrangements pertinent to the importation of the above-mentioned goods from 9 January 2011.
