Export tax

On 25 June 2009, the government of Pakistan raised a regulatory duty of 25% on exports of lead waste and scraps and waste and scrap of primary cells.

The products covered include lead products under HS 7801 to HS 7804 and waste and scraps of cells and batteries under HS 8548.

The regulatory duty was initially announced without an end date, however by SRO 654(I)/2018 published on 24 May 2018 the applicability of the same was limited until 30 June 2019. This was amended again via SRO 675(I)/2019 and the regulatory duty was made applicable indefinitely (See related State Act).
