Import tariff

On June 24th, 2010, the Brazilian government announced temporary tariff reductions on the ad-valorem import duty from 10% to 2% for sardines , sardinella and brisling or sprats sardines and from 12% to 0% for terephthalic acid and its salts. These products are classified under the 8-digit codes 0303.71.00 and 2917.36.00 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM), respectively.

The tariff reduction of the item 0303.71.00 is limited to loads recorded by the Import Declaration until the 31stof August 2010. Most recently, on September 02nd 2010, the Brazilian government decided to extend this deadline for November 30th 2010.

 
The tariff reduction of item 2917.36.00 is limited to a quota of 132,000 tons and loads recorded by the Import Declaration until the 24th of November 2010. Most recently, on November 17th 2010, the Brazilian government decided to extend this deadline for February 10th 2011.
