On 11 January 2010, the government of Ecuador temporarily suspended import tariff on electricity meters. For a period of 12 months, the traditional tariff of 15 percent will not be collected for two tariff lines (HS code 10-digit level).
On 19 March 2011, Ecuador's Trade Committee (Comité de Comerico Exterior COMEX) adopted Resolution No. 04/35 extending this measure until 9 April 2012.
