Import quota

From April 2009, the Government of Kyrgyzstan has introduced an import quota on sugar at 80,000 tons. Only two companies are allowed to import sugar.
 
From July, the Government has increased the quota to 90,000 tons and increased the number of companies which are allowed to import sugar to 6.
 
The quota was removed on 10 April 2010.
