Import tariff

The rate of customs duty on wheat and wheaten flour classifiable under tariff heading 1001.90 and 1101.00 have been increased from 14.07/kg and 21.10/kg to 26.09/kg and 39.13/kg, respectively.
 
The new rates are applicable to the general rate, imports from the EU and EFTA. Imports from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) remain at free of duty.
 
Affected trading partners
The GTA retrieves its data on affected trading partners from UN Comtrade. However, for the year 2009, the database was not able to provide any affected trading partners for Botswana, Swaziland and Lesotho.
 
Update
On 27 August 2010, by Notice no. 758 the goods were again exempted from the duties.
