The general rate of duty on feed supplements containing by mass, 40% or more lysine, whether or not containing added antibiotics or added melengestrol acetate and on lysine and its esters have been increased from free of duty to 10% ad valorem. The increase in duty is to enable the domestic producer of the product compete favourably with foreign competitors and better utilise its existing production capacity.
