On May 20, 2010 the EC issued a notice of initiation of an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of certain ring binder mechanisms originating in Thailand. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading:8305.10.00. The investigation follows the complaint lodged on April 6, 2010 by Ring Alliance Ringbuchtechnik GmbH on behalf of producers representing more than 50% of production of the given product.
On 12 February 2011, the European Commission imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the subject good from Thailand. The rate of duty is 17.2% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price. The measure is in force for a period of 6 months.
On 10 August 2011, the European Commission imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on the imports of certain ring binder mechanisms originating in Thailand. The rate of duty is 16.3% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price.
On 10 August 2016, the above definitive anti-dumping duty was terminated. The measure was terminated as no application for review was lodged and thus the duty expired.
