Local sourcing

On 29 October 2009, at the 20th U.S.-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade
meeting, the Chinese government agreed to drop its local content requirement for wind turbines.
 
Previous to the agreement, the Chinese government demanded from local governments to source more than 70 percent from domestic sources when planning wind power projects.
