Local labour

Kazakhstan introduced a local content requirement into the terms of subsoil use contracts.

Kazakhstan also tightened its legislation with regard to the definition of a domestic company in the subsoil sector, requiring that at least 95 per cent of its employees must be domestic citizens. This may imply that existing legal entities have to reduce the number of foreign personnel.
