NUMBER OF INTERVENTIONS
In a Federal Register notice published on December 12, 2016 (Vol. 81 No. 238) the Federal Transit Administration announced that, in response to Buy America waiver requests from the Central Puget Sound Transit Authority, it had waived its Buy America requirements for the purchase of ultrastraight rail. The notice did not indicate in what country these components were to be procured, but the principal foreign suppliers of this item are China, the Czech Republic, and Japan.
