Anti-dumping

On 24 October 2016, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of POM copolymer from Republic of Korea, Thailand and Malaysia (MOFCOM Announcement No. 57 of 2016). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 3907.10.10. The complaint was lodged on 12 September 2016 by Shanghai BlueStar POM Co., Ltd., Yunnan Yuntianhua Co., Ltd. and Kaifeng Longyu Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.

On 30 June 2017, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China imposed a provisional antidumping duty on imports of POM copolymer from the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. The rate of duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is between 6.1% and 30.4% ad valorem depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Thailand is 23.7% or 34.9% ad valorem. The rate of duty on imports from Malaysia is 7.6% or 9.5% ad valorem.

On 24 October 2017, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of POM copolymer from the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. The rate of duty on imports from the Republic of Korea is between 6.2% and 30.4% ad valorem depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Thailand is 18.5% or 34.9% ad valorem depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Malaysia is 8% or 9.5% ad valorem. The duty is in force for a period of 5 years.
