Import tariff

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced a reclassification ruling in the August 17, 2016 edition of Customs Bulletin and Decisions that resulted in an increase in the tariff applicable to sheet straps made from polyester elastic material and latex rubber elastic that are secured with metal alligator clips. The item had previously been classified under HTSUS subheading 7326.90.8585 (3.5% duty), but CBP has ruled that they may be reclassified under HTSUS subheading 6307.90.9889 and thus subject to a 7% duty. Data are not available on the countries from which this item had been imported. The final revocation and modification became effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after October 17, 2016.
