Anti-dumping

On 12 July 2016, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of standard plasterboard originating in Mexico (Resolution 098, 08.07.2016). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 6809.11.00.00. The complaint was lodged on 6 January 2016 by GYPLAC S.A. and PANELTEC S.A.S. on behalf of the national industry.

On 12 October 2016, the Colombian authorities decided to continue the investigation without the imposition of provisional duties.

On 12 October 2017, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from Mexico (Resolution 170, 11.10.2017). The rate of duty is between 7.14% and 42.86% of the FOB declared value depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of two years.

On 11 September 2019, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism initiated a sunset review on imports of standard plasterboard from Mexico. The review follows the application by Gyplac S.A. and Paneltec S.A.S.
