Local sourcing

On 5 May 2011, the Italian Minister for Economic Development published a decree ("Quarto Conto Energia") introducing increased incentives for solar components produced within the European Union.

The Decree will provide 5 to 10% higher incentives if the localisation requirement is met. As Italy does not produce vast amounts of solar panels and rather imports them from Germany, Spain and Eastern-European countries, the measure will mostly affect China (cf. Sources).
